ANOTHER CLASSMATE HAS PASSED

William Garibaldi III

Our classmate William Garibaldi III died recently after struggling with leukemia. He attended our
Class of 1965 Brothers' Brunch last December as shown in the photos below.

Many of you may remember William as "Billy", who was a member of the Marching 100 at St. Aug.  He played trumpet, earned a music scholarship to Dillard University, and graduated with a degree in business and accounting.  William put his college-acquired skills to work at Shell Oil, the New Orleans Public Schools, and became Director of Fiscal Affairs at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
He was the father of several children, two grand-children, and one great-grand-child.
Funeral services for William Garibaldi III are set for:
Tuesday July 29th, 2025 at 10am
Corpus Christi/Epiphany Catholic Church
2025 St. Bernard Ave.   New Orleans, La. 70117
Interment will be PRIVATE.

Rhaoul was recently honored by the Baton Rouge chapter of the UrbanHe was one of the engineers who worked on construction of the Superdome in New Orleans.

Classmate Furnell Chatman was recently awarded the 2025 Legacy Award by the New Orleans Association of Black Journalists.  He
made history as the first African American hired by any TV news
station in New Orleans, then became the first Black to anchor his own newscast in Louisiana.  But his path was not easy.
