A GIGANTIC THANK YOU TO
DR. KENNETH ST. CHARLES
We understand and respect your decision to leave St. Augustine High School, but we are
deeply saddened about your pending departure. Your kindness, accessibility, and forthright approach in dealing with the Class of '65 will be missed. As a class, we thank you for accommodating our needs with the passion, respect, civility, and loyalty of a true Purple Knight.
We are convinced your decision to leave St. Aug is a significant blow to the Purple Nation. But we also know the Purple Nation will persevere and continue its mission which you have so skillfully directed. The alumni of 1965 hope the attributes of Dr. Kenneth St. Charles will be paramount in the selection process of the next President and
C-E-O of our cherished Alma Mater.
In brotherhood, we sincerely thank you Dr. St. Charles. We wish you the very best in your new post as Vice-President for Philanthropy with the Greater New Orleans Foundation.
ST. AUG. NAMES AULSTON TAYLOR
AS INTERIM PRESIDENT/C-E-O
L TO R: GREG GAINES, GREG MCKENDALL, MIKE GLAPION, AULSTON TAYLOR,
EMILE LOMBARD, HARRY TERVALON, FURNELL CHATMAN, BOBBY MAJOR
Aulston Taylor is a 1998 graduate of St. Augustine High School and has been a senior manager serving as Chief Development Officer and the top manager of alumni relations. Prior to returning to our alma mater, Aulston spent 16 years as a corporate sales and marketing executive. He was named "New Business Sales Executive of the Year" for 2018. Taylor earned his B.A. in business at Texas Southern University, and an M.S. in integrated marketing/brand management at New York University.
Aulston is well known to the Class of '65 Committee members, and has offered some insights and suggestions about our fundraising efforts. He has succeeded in securing the largest one-time gift in the school's history--- $1.5 million dollars from the Start Small Initiative funded by Jack Dorsey who is the C-E-O of Twitter and Square. That gift is being used for a substantial facilities upgrade program now underway at St. Aug.
Taylor says: "I am delighted and honored to accept my new role at such a pivotal and
challenging time in the history of the nation and our great city of New Orleans."
